13-Year-Old Struck, Killed in Prince William County

A teenager was struck and killed by a driver in Prince William County Tuesday, according to police.

Around 12:30 p.m., a 13-year-old boy was hit on Route 15 (James Madison Highway) near Graduation Lane in Haymarket, Virginia, Prince William County Police said.

Police said the teen was attempting to cross James Madison Highway while the driver of a 2019 Honda Odyssey traveling northbound had a green light to go through the intersection.

The vehicle struck the boy, who was in the roadway, authorities said. He was transported to a hospital, where he died from his injuries.

The crash occurred near Battlefield High School. It is not known if the victim was a student there.

The driver was identified as a 46-year-old woman of Chantilly. She stayed at the scene and was not injured in the crash, police said.
