It's sure to cause sibling rivalry for years!
Twins were born to a Wheaton, Md., couple at MedStar Washington Hospital Center on two different days in two different years: a baby girl at 11:58 p.m. on New Year's Eve, and a baby boy at 12:01 a.m. New Year's Day.
The babies, named Lorraine and Brandon, hadn't been due for three more weeks, but doctors became concerned about Brandon's heartrate and decided to deliver them early via C-section.
Both babies, and mom Yaleni Tohalino, are healthy and doing well. Lorraine weighed in at six and a half pounds, and Brandon at five pounds, 10 ounces.
"They're beautiful," said Warren Begazo, the babies' father. "They're beautiful, full developed, active and amazing human beings."
The couple had tried for a year to conceive before turning to IVF, and now, here they are.
"God really blessed me with these children," Begazo said. "It's really great. It's amazing."

Tohalino said their newborn baby girl -- technically their first-born -- looks a lot like her.
"There couldn't be a better present for 2014 than a human being," Begazo said.
