Shop Selling Only Items Made in DC to Open Near Dupont Circle

The District now has a store featuring art, products and food created solely by D.C. residents and for D.C. residents.

Shop Made in DC, as it is suitably named, opens Thursday.

The brick-and-mortar store will feature a rotating assortment of jewelry, ceramics, clothing and furniture, plus a cafe. Customers can expect to find brands like Milks Letterpress, Mallory Shelter Jewelry and DISTRICT of CLOTHING.

On Monday, Mayor Bowser celebrated the new collaborative initiative as part of #ObviouslyDC week.

“Those of us who live and work in D.C. already know that Washingtonians make tremendous products. Now, Shop Made in DC is giving more D.C. entrepreneurs the opportunity to sell and promote their brands while growing their customer base,” Bowser said.

Shop Made in DC’s cafe will sell bagels and breakfast sandwiches from Bullfrog Bagels and drinks from Small Planes Coffee -- two D.C. companies.

Keeping with the theme, the shop will play soundtracks from local artists and also sell vinyl records from Washingtonians.
