Dozens of Glover Park residents gathered Tuesday to rally against renewing a liquor license to a gentlemen's club, as well as blocking the construction of private rooms.
JP's Nightclub closed for five years following a fire and reopened earlier this summer. In the past, neighbors have rallied for it not to reopen, as well as reduce its hours.
Now, they're rallying against renewing the club's liquor license, as well as the addition of "alcoves," or private areas for adult entertainment.
"The little restaurants... all of that is wonderful," Dorothy Bioni, a Glover Park resident said. "Alcoves and dancing and topless and all of that... it's not what we conceive our neighborhood to be."
Paul Kadlick, a representative for JP's spoke at the meeting Tuesday.
"Glover Park community, after 7 weeks of business operation has managed to survive and JP's has not adversely affected this community," Kadlick said, referencing the length of time since the club reopened after the fire.

The Alcohol Beverage Regulation Administration will vote on the issues at hand in September.
