The National Cathedral will offer tours of its unique stone carvings for the first time since the August earthquake.

The tours are set to begin at 2 p.m. Sunday and will explore more than 100 gargoyles that include monsters, dogs, horses, and even Star Wars’ villain Darth Vader.

The Cathedral was forced to temporarily suspend the popular tours and other events after a 5.8-magnitude earthquake struck our region in August last year.

The National Cathedral reopened in November, but repairs are expected to take several years.

As of February, the cathedral raised $2 million toward the estimated $20 million restoration initiative.
