A naked man tackled and groped a pregnant woman right outside the U.S. Tax Court last May, according to the government.
Michael Williams was sentenced to three years in prison Friday after pleading guilty to third-degree sexual abuse in September. He will be placed on three years supervised release and must register as a sex offender for 10 years after his release.
The victim was eight months pregnant when, on May 5, she saw the stark naked 24-year-old approaching her in the 400 block of 3rd Street NW, according to the government.
She tried to get away, but he caught up to her and grabbed, knocking her down to the sidewalk, according to the government.
A guard inside the court saw it and ran out, but Williams ran from the scene. A D.C. police detective saw a naked man running up 3rd Street, got out of his car and chased him down and arrested him.
Williams has been in custody since the attack.
The woman and her unborn baby did not suffer serious injuries.
