Motorcyclist Killed in Deadly Interstate Accident

A motorcyclist was killed Saturday after he hit a vehicle on I-95 South, was thrown from his bike, and then was hit by a tractor trailer.

Maryland State Police said the incident occurred just south of Route 212 in Prince George’s County around 7 p.m. The victim has not been identified and no one else was injured.

Investigators said a 2003 Suzuki GSX-R 600 motorcycle was travelling at an apparent high rate of speed southbound on I-95. The motorcycle struck a southbound Volkswagen, causing the motorcycle operator to apparently lose control.

They said the motorcycle operator was ejected and landed on the travel portion of the highway. He was then apparently struck by a southbound tractor trailer.

Several lanes of southbound I-95 were closed due to crash cleanup and investigation for several hours. All lanes are back open.
