Motorcyclist Killed, Driver Charged With DUI in Woodbridge Crash

The crash occurred early Sunday on Dale Boulevard in Woodbridge

A motorcyclist is dead and a driver has been charged with driving while intoxicated following a crash in Woodbridge, Virginia.

Prince William County Police say that John Jon Lee, 46, of Rockville, died in the crash.

Police say that Lee was riding a Ducati motorcycle westbound on Dale Boulevard early Sunday. Katrina Nicole Thomas, 26, of Fredericksburg, Virginia, was driving a Toyota sedan in the same direction on the same road, police say.

Both vehicles crossed the grassy median over to the eastbound side of the road, then hit two separate trees, police say. What caused the drivers to cross the median is under investigation, police say.

Police responded to the 4100 block of Dale Boulevard about 2:15 a.m. Lee was pronounced dead at the scene.

Thomas was taken to the hospital with serious injuries that are not considered life-threatening. She was charged with driving while intoxicated, and police say additional charges may be pending.

Thomas was released on court summons.

Speed and alcohol were factors in the crash, police say.
