Prince George's County Mother Pleads Guilty in Death of Infant Son

The infant's father punched him and his parents then buried his body

A Maryland woman has pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter after her husband punched their infant son and the couple buried his body.

Geneice Petty pleaded guilty after the death of her 2-month-old son, Antoine Flemons, in September 2016, Prince George's County prosecutors announced Monday morning.

Flemons was last seen alive with his mother, who was 24 at the time of the crime, on Sept. 22, 2016. He was reported missing weeks later, on Oct. 16, 2016.

The baby's father, Antoine Petty, punched the baby repeatedly in the torso to stop him from crying.

The mother and father kept their son's body in their 1998 Lincoln Town Car hearse for more than a day and then buried his body in a shallow grave behind Parkdale High School in Riverdale, Maryland.

Both parents kept the child’s death a secret for more than three weeks before Flemons’ grandmother reported him missing.

Geneice Petty faces as long as 10 years in prison.

Antoine Petty pleaded guilty to murder on Aug. 2. He is set to be sentenced this month. He faces a maximum of 40 years in prison.
