Hazardous traveling conditions are likely Monday morning as temperatures drop and create icy spots on some area roads.
As a result, many school districts in our area have announced delayed openings.
Fairfax, Loudoun, Fauquier, Prince William, Culpeper, Spotsylvania and Stafford were among the Virginia counties announcing a 2-hour delay Monday. Frederick, Va. announced a one-hour delay.

Warmer temperatures melted much of the snow and ice from Saturday’s storm, creating standing water in some places. A sunny day on Sunday dried many roads, but scattered slick spots on Monday morning are likely.
Storm Team4's Amelia Segal said temperatures will drop below freezing sometime early Monday morning. She said they will continue to fall throughout the day.
The Maryland State Highway Administration, Virginia Department of Transportation and D.C. Department of Transportation crews cleared as many areas as they could on Sunday.
While crews made significant progress plowing roads, drivers encountered a wide range of changing road conditions across the region Sunday as snow begins to melt.
Earlier this week, a storm brought several inches of snow to the D.C. area, piling up between 4 and 7 inches for much of our area.
That snow was followed by record-breaking, bone-chilling cold. The last time Washington set a record low temperature in February was 45 years ago. Friday's low also beat the record for Feb. 20, 8 degrees, which was set in 1896. The new record is now 5 degrees.
