A new library is set to open in Downtown Silver Spring this weekend.
The library will have a grand opening ceremony Saturday. It will take up about 63,000 square feet of space on the third, fourth and fifth levels of a five-story building at Wayne Avenue and Fenton Street.
It replaces a previous library that was on Colesville Road.
The library will have some 90,000 books, a digital media lab, a coffee bar and a cafe. Library members will be able to pick up materials placed on hold 24 hours per day from outdoor pickup lockers.
