Montgomery College Boosts Security After Threatening 911 Call Is Received

Montgomery College has increased security patrols on its multiple campuses in Maryland after a threat was made via 911 call, school officials and police say.

A 911 call was placed to Montgomery County officials about 1:45 p.m. Friday, Montgomery County police said. The caller made a threat to Montgomery College, not mentioning a specific campus of the school, police said.

Police notified school officials, which increased patrols on all campuses "out of an abundance of caution," a college representative said.

The college remains open. Anyone who sees suspicious activity is asked to notify the college security team, or call 911 in an emergency.
