$1 Million Powerball Ticket Sold in Arlington

Million-dollar ticket sold at a 7-Eleven on Lee Highway in Arlington

Although Wednesday night's Powerball jackpot winners bought their tickets in Arizona and Missouri, four ticket buyers in Virginia -- including one in Arlington -- have lucked out with a million dollars each.

The million-dollar winners matched the first five numbers (5, 16, 22, 23, 29), but didn't include the Powerball number (6).

Arlington's winning ticket was sold at a 7-Eleven at Lee Highway and George Mason Drive, about two miles northwest of Ballston. The convenience store is located in a small, sloping parking lot that shares space with a shoe repair service.

A 7-Eleven employee who answered the phone around 12:20 p.m. Thursday said she and other workers were excited about the sale of the ticket, but haven't heard from anyone claiming to have the winning numbers.

Virginia's Match 5 winning tickets were sold at:

  • 7-Eleven -- 5267 Lee Highway, Arlington
  • Sali Mini Mart Discount Tobacco -- 1721 Roanoke Road, Daleville
  • Mr. B's Welcome Center -- 3833 North Valley Pike, Harrisonburg
  • Kroger -- 901 North Lombardy Street, Richmond

Million-dollar tickets were also sold in 24 other states, including New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
