A bomb-sniffing K-9 who saved countless lives in Afghanistan got first class treatment at Dulles International Airport Sunday.
Marine Sergeant Lucca has logged more than 400 patrols as a bomb detecting dog, with 40 confirmed finds of explosives.
Her career ended after she lost one of her front legs after detecting an IED in Afghanistan.
This week, Lucca will represent military and police dogs at the International Association of Bomb Detectors conference, which is being held in Texas.
"I think it's just a great opportunity. I mean, I was a dog handler for 12 years and just to have the opportunity to bring awareness to the military working dog community has been a tremedous opportunity for us," said Lucca's handler, Staff Sgt. Chris Willingham.
The 8-year-old wounded warrior flew to the conference in first class thanks to United Airlines.
