A new crime report shows which Metro stations had the most criminal activity in 2011.
At the top of the “most dangerous” list is the Deanwood station in Northeast, where 67 serious crimes were reported in 2011.
The agency just released a list of which stations reported the most Part 1 crimes over the past year - which include aggravated assaults, burglaries, larceny and motor vehicle thefts.
The list was first reported by the Washington Examiner and confirmed by News4.
The report said in 2011, 64 cases were reported at the Anacostia station, at L'Enfant Plaza, 63 crimes, Suitland, 60 cases, and College Park had 55 reported Part 1 crimes.
Clarendon, Eisenhower, and Virginia Square-GMU reported no crimes last year. All of those stations are located in Virginia.
The report indicates that crimes across the transportation system are higher now than just a few years ago. However, crimes in parking lots and on buses have fallen to a five-year low.
A metro spokesperson said some stations have more crimes against property, but in Deanwood, more crimes against individuals have been reported. Ronald Pavlik, Deputy Chief of Metro Transit Police said officers and resources are constantly adjusted based on crime reporting.
