10 People Hurt in Metrobus Crash

Eight people on board a Metrobus and another two people inside cars were hurt Wednesday night when the bus and at least two cars crashed, officials say.

The crash occurred at South Capitol Street and Malcolm X Avenue SE, near Joint Base Anacostia–Bolling, the D.C. fire department said about 6:45 p.m. 

Eight people on the W4 bus were taken to a hospital, the fire department said in an update on Twitter. Another two people refused medical treatment. Two people inside cars also were taken to a hospital. All 10 people had minor injuries. 

Nearby streets were blocked.

Information on the cause of the crash was not available immediately.
