Metro is weighing a plan to cut rush-hour service on four train lines and add service on the Blue Line.
A proposal set to be presented to the Riders Advisory Council on Wednesday night would have trains operating more frequently on the Blue Line during peak hours, with wait times decreasing from 12 minutes to 8 minutes.
The Orange and Silver lines would have fewer trains, and wait times would increase slightly. The Yellow and Green lines also would run less frequently, with trains arriving every eight minutes instead of every six minutes.
The proposed changes are meant to alleviate the bottleneck at the Rosslyn tunnel, which the Orange, Blue and Silver line trains all pass through, Metro spokeswoman Sherry Ly said.
