With a huge smile, NBC4’s Meagan Fitzgerald broke the news that she and her "beautiful fiancée" Kelly Heath are engaged.
Fitzgerald’s co-anchors, Adam Tuss and Lauryn Ricketts, cheered and applauded at the good news.
Heath popped the question Saturday along the Tidal Basin, Fitzgerald said.
Afterward, they enjoyed tapas at Barcelona on 14th Street— a special place for the couple — and of course, “lots and lots and lots of champagne!”
Fitzgerald took the opportunity to express support for the LGBTQ community.
Being gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender can be tough, Fitzgerald told viewers.
