Md. Restaurant Owner Pleads Guilty to Recording Women in Bathroom

The owner of the Maryland bar and restaurant Rams Head Tavern pleaded guilty Thursday to secretly videotaping women in the bathroom.

Kyle Muehlhauser, 37, of Severna Park, pleaded guilty to two counts of recording in a private place with prurient interest. He was sentenced to 90 days in jail by Howard County District Court.

Muehlhauser was originally charged with six counts of visual surveillance with prurient intent.

The investigation began in May after a woman said she was in the restroom at the Rams Head Tavern in Savage, Maryland, when a digital video camera fell onto the floor, Howard County Police said. Footage on the camera showed a man placing the camera in the bathroom and showed six different women who were secretly recorded, detectives said.

Police later identified the restaurant owner as the man in the video after lab results indicated DNA on the camera matched his.
