Man Gets 150 Years in Beer Pong Sex Assault Case

A Maryland man was sentenced to 150 years in prison Wednesday for sexual assaults of five young men.

Joey G. Poindexter, 40, of Gaithersburg, was convicted earlier this year of sexually assaulting men he met at beer pong events.

Prosecutors said the sexual assaults in the case occurred over a three-year period in Montgomery County.

The Montgomery County State's Attorney's Office said prosecutors showed evidence Poindexter may have victimized 25 more men. Seized computer files from Poindexter went back 10 years, they said.

Authorities said Poindexter met several victims at beer pong tournaments, including a tournament in a College Park bar. They said Poindexter lured several men to his home.

A student alleged that Poindexter sexually assaulted him after meeting him at a beer pong tournament in 2013. Three other men said Poindexter attacked them in his home. All those men were drunk and possibly drugged at the time of the assaults, police said.

Poindexter took pictures of many of his victims, police said, and they found images of more than 12 victims on his hard drive.
