Md. Man Charged With Shaking Baby Daughter to Death

A Maryland man accused of shaking his baby daughter to death has been charged, according to Howard County police.

Police arrived at Aron James Krampfโ€™s residence in Elkridge, Md., Tuesday about 12:45 p.m. in response to a call about an unconscious infant who wasnโ€™t breathing. She was immediately transported to Johns Hopkins Childrenโ€™s Hospital in Baltimore.

Police believe that Krampf shook the baby to stop her from crying. The infant died Thursday morning as a result of the critical injuries she sustained, including brain hemorrhaging and fractures throughout her body.

On Wednesday night the police charged Krampf with first- and second-degree assault, child abuse and reckless endangerment. Authorities predict that murder charges will be added when the case goes before a grand jury later this month.

Krampf is being held on a $1 million bond.
