Md. High School Employee Accused of Sexually Assaulting Girls

Investigators say all of Diaz’s inappropriate touching of the victims occurred at his home

A Montgomery County man who works at Gaithersburg High School was arrested Tuesday on charges related to inappropriately touching three girls over several years.

Ancelmo Osmin Diaz, 59, worked as a building services employee at the high school.

Two of the three girls are minors, according to a statement from Montgomery County police. The third victim told police Diaz inappropriately touched her when she was 18 years old.

On May 2, detectives received information from one of the child victims that Diaz had been inappropriately touching her for three years, police said. They then interviewed the other juvenile victim, who said the same thing had been happening to her for five years.

Investigators believe all of Diaz’s inappropriate touching occurred at his home, police said.

Diaz made statements during police interviews in which he partially admitted to the inappropriate touching of the victims, police said.

He turned himself in to police Tuesday.

He faces six counts of sexual abuse of a minor, seven counts of fourth-degree sex offense and one count of second-degree assault, according to the statement.

School officials say Diaz has been placed on administrative leave. Bond information is not available yet, and it's unclear if he has a lawyer.

Detectives are requesting that parents of juveniles who attend Gaithersburg High School talk to their children about possible interactions with Diaz and contact Special Victims Investigations Division detectives at 240-773-5400 if they believe their child was victimized.
