McAuliffe Headed Abroad to Meet With Troops

Gov. Terry McAuliffe is set to head overseas to visit Virginia troops serving abroad.

The governor's office announced Friday that he's headed to Turkey, Qatar, Afghanistan and Germany as part of a delegation of governors.

The five-day trip, scheduled to start Wednesday, was organized by the Pentagon, according to McAuliffe's office.

Virginia has a heavy military presence and is home to the Norfolk Naval Base, the world's largest. The governor has made ending veterans' homelessness a top priority.
