Maryland High School Track Coach Accused of Having Sex With a Minor

A Maryland high school track coach allegedly had sex with a minor, according to Montgomery County Police.

A 14-year-old girl told detectives she and Onaje Robinson, 42, had sex Aug. 20. Robinson, a track coach at Seneca Valley High School, turned himself in Tuesday.

The two met on social media and a week later agreed to meet in person.At approximately 1 a.m. Aug. 20, Robinson picked the girl up from her home in Anne Arundel County and drove her to his Germantown apartment where she says they had sex. He drove her back to her house about 5 a.m.

The girl said Robinson was aware of her age, but Robinson told police that the girl represented herslf as a 20-year-old online. 

Seneca Valley Principal Marc Cohen sent a letter to parents Wednesday explaining the situation and assuring them the incident does not involve any Montgomery County Public School students.

“It is important for you to know that as soon as we were made aware of the allegations against Mr. Robinson, we took immediate steps to ensure the safety and security of our students,” wrote Cohen. “Mr. Robinson has been placed on unpaid administrative leave.”

Police charged Robinson with two counts of third-degree sexual offense and one count of second-degree assault. He was processed and released on bond.

Police are looking into his social media accounts to see if there are other young victims.

Robinson served as a volunteer coach in 2013 and was hired in 2014 as an indoor and outdoor track coach.
