A Laurel, Maryland, elementary school is closing early Wednesday after a sprinkler system activation caused flooding.
Forest Ridge Elementary School will close at 11 a.m., school officials say.
The school said it will begin transporting students home at 11 a.m. Parents must email the school's front office secretary to give permission for their students to be released.
Students whose parents do not notify the school's front office will not be released.
Parents can also pick their students up.
