March for Science Draws Hundreds to National Mall

Scientists, advocates and educators alike marched with people of all ages in an effort to call attention to the impact of science in policy decisions.

The rally and march was scheduled from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., starting in front of the White House and ending at the U.S. Capitol.

"We work toward a future where science is fully embraced in public life and policy," the March for Science website says. "The March for Science organization empowers a global community of science supporters for nonpartisan advocacy in service of equitable and effective science and science policy."

Last year was the first time the march took place, after President Donald Trump signed an order rolling back environmental policies enacted under former President Barack Obama.
