The Manassas Mall in Virginia was in the process of reopening at 2 p.m. Friday after it was evacuated as a precaution following a bomb threat.
Someone called in the threat around 10 a.m. People were asked to avoid the area while police searched the mall with bomb-sniffing dogs.
Prince William County Police said around 1:30 p.m. that they had completed their search and didn't find anything.
They are continuing to investigate the source of the bomb threat.
A precautionary "secure the building" status was in effect but was lifted around 1:40 p.m. at three nearby schools: Ellis Elementary School, Stonewall Jackson High School and New Directions. All students and staff are safe, said a spokesperson for Prince William County Public Schools.
