Metro trains on the Blue and Orange Lines were delayed several hours Monday after a man jumped in front of a train and was killed, officials say.
The Blue and Orange Lines single-tracked between Smithsonian and Federal Center SW, and the Silver Line ran only between the Wiehle-Reston East and Ballston stations.
Metro said shortly before 2 p.m. that regular train service has resumed but residual delays remain.
It appears the man intentionally jumped into the path of an Orange Line train in the L'Enfant Plaza station, a Metro representative said. He has died, the D.C. fire department said in an update.
