Man Sought in Rape, Kidnapping of Virginia Woman

Police are searching for a man accused of raping and kidnapping a Manassas, Virginia, woman.

About 12:30 a.m. Saturday, police went to a home in the 8100 block of Portwood Turn to investigate an abduction. Police learned that 34-year-old Jorge Alberto Corea-Berrios allegedly forced his way into the home, took a kitchen knife and cut one of the residents.

He then went to a woman’s bedroom and forced her out of the apartment at knifepoint, police said. The two left the home on foot.

Later, the woman was able to escape and contact police. She told them that during the abduction, Corea-Berrios sexually assaulted her. She also said that two days prior, Corea-Berrios strangled her during a fight.

Police then issued several warrants for Corea-Berrios’ arrest, including on charges of abduction, strangulation, rape and burglary. In addition to Manassas, police believe that Corea-Berrios has ties to New York. He was last seen wearing a white sweater and blue jeans.
