Prince George's County police have identified the teenage boy killed in a shooting in Laurel, Maryland, Tuesday night.
Officers were called to the area of Contee and Larchdale roads about 8:30 p.m. for a report of a shooting. When they arrived, they found 17-year-old Dustin Khoury of Sparrows Point, Maryland, suffering from a gunshot wound.
Khoury was taken to a hospital in critical condition and died a short time later.
Khoury would have been a senior at Meade Senior High School in the fall.
"He never reached adulthood, never had a chance to live life," Dustin's father Michael Khoury said. "I'm not too sure how it's going to go. It's just one day at a time for us."
No arrests have been made, but police do not believe this was a random shooting.
Khoury's death is the 14th homicide in the county this month.

"If you commit murder in Prince george's County, we have an 80 percent closure rate, so [there's a good chance] we are going to find you and lock you up," said Jennifer Donelan, a spokeswoman for Prince George's County Police Department.
Since the spike in homicides, officers have been assigned to work 12-hour shifts.
"It looks like a Christmas tree in this county at night. It is lit up with police lights across the county," Donelan said.
But Donelan said the police alone cannot stop the killings.
"We've all heard this, that if you decide to make certain choices in life with illegal activity, you can either end up in jail or dead. We need people to start making some better decisions," she said.
