Suspect Identified, Sought in Laurel Murder

Anne Arundel County police are investigating the shooting death of a man Saturday night in Laurel.

Police said Abelardo Alvarado Aguilar, 37, of Hyattsville, was shot and killed in an apartment in the 200 block of Red Clay Road. The incident occurred around 10:19 p.m. Saturday.

Police are searching for Juan Lux Quinilla, 36, of Langley Park. He is wanted for first-degree murder and other related charges.

Police are also searching for a vehicle - a 2006 Cadillac Escalade with possible Maryland license plate number 01936CF.

Investigators have several witnesses that are being interviewed. A Facebook post from the police department called the shooting an “apparent targeted homicide after dispute.”
