Man Sentenced for Raping Nun at Her Md. Home

A D.C. man has been sentenced for the rape of a nun at her Prince George's County home, prosecutors said Tuesday.

Juan Alex Randolph was sentenced to 35 years in prison Tuesday.

On Aug. 29, 2015, Randolph broke into the victim's Hyattsville, Maryland, home and raped her. Prosecutors said he laid in bed with the victim for several hours before leaving with her cellphone and $40.

“Mr. Randolph brutally attacked and violated the victim in this case and then continued to emotionally terrorize her after the physical assault ended,” Prince George’s County State’s Attorney Angela Alsobrooks said.

The next day, police tracked the victim's cellphone to an address in Washington, D.C., where they found Randolph hiding under the kitchen sink.

Randolph was charged with first-degree rape and burglary.
