Man Pleads Guilty in Death of Teen He Met Online

The two met via social networking site Tagged

A 22-year-old man pleaded guilty Friday in connection with the shooting death of a Maryland teen whom he met via a social networking site.

Police said 18-year-old Siobhan Lee used the iPhone app Tagged to meet Alexander Buckley, who was wanted by police. The app allows users to text each other via the Internet, but police said the two eventually started communicating over the phone.

Buckley instructed Lee to meet him during the early morning hours June 25, telling her to take a bus to Georgia Avenue NW where he would meet her.

She was found just after 3 a.m. with gunshot wounds to the head at the corner of 5th and Nicholson streets NW. Her iPhone and iPod Touch were stolen.

Buckley was located within hours of the incident, while still in possession of Lee's phone.

He pleaded guilty to charges of second degree murder while armed and will be sentenced in August.
