A man died early Wednesday after a fire erupted in a home near American University in Northwest D.C.
Firefighters were called to the 3800 block of 45th Street NW just before 2 a.m. Wednesday.
Police say the victim was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His name has not been released, but authorities say he was in his 50s.
No one else was in the house at the time of the fire, officials said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
