Manslaughter Arrest in Arlington Motorcycle Fatality

A man was killed in a fatal accident in Arlington on Friday night when his motorcycle collided with a vehicle.

The man was later identifed as Gerald Glasper, 42, of Arlington.

On Friday, Arlington County Police Department detectives arrested Jonathan Mendez, 25, and charged him with manslaughter in connection with the accident. His vehicle remained onscene after the incident. Mendez, a Washington, D.C., resident, was held at the Arlingotn County Detenction Center without bond.

At 9:09 p.m. on Friday night, a vehicle collided with a motorcycle at the intersection of Arlington Boulevard and Irving Street. Glasper, the driver of the motorcycle was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The Arlington County Police Department is investigating the accident. They ask anyone who witnessed the accident or has other information related to the accident to call Detective Tamara Celestini at 703-228-4164.
