A man was shot and killed Wednesday morning in an apartment building in District Heights, Maryland.
Desean Michael Chapman, 28, died after he was shot on the 3200 block of Walters Lane, a representative of the Prince George's County Police Department said.
Multiple shots rang out about 7 a.m. in a hallway of an apartment building near the Centre at Forestville mall.
Neighbors said they heard screams.
"I heard a gunshot and there was a dead body on the floor," Rob Mejia said.
A woman and her two young children live in a nearby apartment, neighbors said.
Police believe Chapman, of Upper Marlboro was targeted. No information on a suspect or motive was released.

"It’s shocking because here it’s just real quiet," Mejia said.
