Man Holds 6-Year-Old at Gunpoint During Robbery

Asian grocery store robbed on New Year's Eve

ARLINGTON, Va. -- A man held a handgun against a 6-year-old during a robbery at an Asian grocery on New Year's Eve, according to the Arlington County Police Department.
 
The robber demanded money from the clerk at the store in the 2900 block of Columbia Pike while threatening the child and got away with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.
 
The child was not injured.
 
The robber was described as an Asian man standing 5-foot-5 and 145 pounds with brown eyes and black hair. He wore a black knit ski hat covering his face with an oval hole around the eyes, a tan fleece jacket with a blue strip down each sleeve, black pants, black shoes, and black gloves. He spoke with a Chinese or Vietnamese accent.
 
Police suspect the robber is linked to several other robberies targeting Asian merchants in the area.
