Virginia Man Accused of Running Over, Killing Sister

"She was beautiful and she was caring and she really had a good heart," the victim's sister said

A Virginia man has been accused of fatally injuring his sister by ramming into her with his car and driving off, authorities say.

Michel Moreno, 58, was driving his sister, Nancy Moreno, to Dulles Airport early Saturday morning when they got into an argument on the way, the Morenos' sister Marlene Hylton told News4.

Nancy got out of the car and started walking with her luggage on Sully Road near the intersection of Innovation Drive, Hylton said.

Hylton said police told her another driver had stopped to give Nancy a ride.

"He pulled into the front and when he looked into his rear view mirror, a car had hit my sister and left," Hylton said.

Nancy Moreno, 54, was taken to a hospital, where she died of her injuries, the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office said.

"She was beautiful and she was caring and she really had a good heart," Hylton said of her sister.

Michel Moreno took off, according to the sheriff's office.

Police later found Michel Moreno in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. He was taken to a jail there and is to be extradited to Virginia.

Hylton said officers found her brother gambling at a casino.

She said her sister had tried to help her brother.

"She just had a good heart, but she didn't quite really understand the concept of getting away from tragedy. You know, when you see tragedy you better run," Hylton said.

Michel Moreno is charged with first-degree murder and felony hit-and-run.
