Man Arrested in ICC Road Rage Stabbing

Police arrested a man in connection with a road rage stabbing along Maryland Route 200, also known as the Intercounty Connector.

Ronald Paul, 49, of Laurel, Maryland, was arrested and charged with attempted second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, and other crimes. He is accused of stabbing a Baltimore County man after a confrontation on the ramp from the ICC to northbound Interstate 95 on Wednesday, Oct. 18.

Investigators said Paul tried to pass stopped traffic on the right shoulder of the ramp when another vehicle moved to the shoulder to block him. They said Paul got out of his truck and confronted the driver and passenger.

Police said Paul demanded the passenger get out of the truck. When the person refused, Paul allegedly opened the passenger door and attempted to grab the victim.

They said the victim turned his legs toward Paul, trying to defend himself, when Paul stabbed the victim in the leg.

Paul was arrested Monday, Oct. 23 at a residence. He is being held without bond in the Prince George’s County Detention Center.
