Guinea Pig Hatter Accused of Throat-Slashing Gesture — to Kids

Suspect already faces animal cruelty charge

A Virginia man facing an animal cruelty charge is now accused of threatening children.

A woman told police Charles Woodson, 41, of Front Royal, made a throat-slashing gesture toward her three children last week.

Woodson is already charged with animal cruelty. He skinned a guinea pig to make a Davy Crockett style hat, police said.

Woodson told the Northern Virginia Daily he killed the animal humanely and at worst he’s guilty of a hunting violation.

On Tuesday, a hearing was held to determine whether his $2,500 bond should be revoked because of the latest accusation.

A judge ordered a mental evaluation, and Woodson was due back in court Wednesday for another hearing on this latest charge.

His hearing on the animal cruelty charge is scheduled for May 18.
