A 55-year-old man allegedly groped an underage boy on a Metro train Wednesday, according to police.
The victim said he was riding the Yellow Line train between the Pentagon and L’Enfant Plaza stations when the suspect, Rajkumar Chandrakant Patel, sat next to him and groped him, police said.
The boy exited the train at L’Enfant Plaza station and alerted Metro authorities.
Metro Transit Police officers boarded the train and the victim identified Patel as the suspect.
Police arrested Patel on second-degree child sexual abuse charges.
Patel appeared in court Thursday. An initial status hearing will be Nov. 6.
