The man accused of shooting a 19-year-old Maryland man to death in Georgetown has been captured in Morgantown, West Virginia, police say.
Demarius Anton Jackson, 24, was arrested Tuesday in death of Kennedy Javier Amaya-Olivares, WDTV reports. Police say Jackson will be charged once he is extradited to Washington, D.C.
Officers were called to the 3500 block of Water Street NW, near the Key Bridge on July 8 for reports of gunshots. When they arrived, they found Amaya-Olivares dead and another man injured.
According to WDTV, the U.S. Marshals Service received a tip that Jackson was hiding in Morgantown. Authorities quickly located him, and he was arrested without incident.
