Massive Water Main Break in Maryland Shoots Water 15 Feet Into Sky

Some Fort Washington, Maryland, residents got quite the surprise when they walked out of their front doors Saturday morning.

C.J. Hilliard took the above video of a water main break that happened about 10 a.m. in the 10900 Valley Brook Drive. The water appears to shoot up about 15 feet into the sky and the break created a giant hole in the middle of the road.

The water came falling down into the Hilliard's yard and he said at first he thought it was rain.

WSSC said about 20 customers were affected.

Crews were on the street all day making repairs and service was restored as of about 5:25 p.m., WSSC said.
