Saturday BBQ Fest Isn't Just for Meat-Lovers

You might not expect much vegan and vegetarian-friendly food at a barbecue, but Saturday's Union BBQ promises meal options for every guest.

The event, hosted by U Street Music Hall, begins at noon and ends around midnight. Ten local food vendors will be there, offering everything from BBQ sandwiches to organic, cold-pressed juices (and yes, many have veggie-based options!).

Great food isn't the only reason to check the event out. More than 20 musicians, including 12 local artists, will be playing throughout the day. Headliners include Kaytranada and Orchard Lounge, and a full set-list can be found on online.

Tickets cost $40, and guests must be over 18. Advance tickets are available on Ticketfly until 10 p.m. Friday, but tickets can also be purchased day-of at the U Street Music Hall box office.

The entire event (including food and beverage services) is cash only, so remember to bring cash or visit one of two on-site ATMs.

Free parking is available in the lot in front of the market on a first-come-first-serve basis. First-time Uber users can use the promo code "UnionBBQ" for $25 towards their ride.

Directions to Union Market can be found here.
