OBAMA DAUGHTERS GO TO SCHOOL
A day after landing in Washington in the final leg of his march toward inauguration, President-elect Barack Obama was heading to Capitol Hill Monday to push for quick action on a broad economic stimulus package. His two daughters, meantime, checked into their new school — one campus in Washington, the other in the Maryland suburbs — according to a spokeswoman for Michelle Obama. (USAToday)

PNC, NO MORE ATM FEES
PNC Financial Services Group Inc. said Monday it has eliminated ATM fees for its customers. (Washington Business Journal)

WALKERSVILLE FATAL FIRE
The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office said a Walkersville man who died from injuries he sustained in a fire at his home had gone back inside to save a family pet. Michael Aquino, 60, discovered the fire Sunday night and got his family out safely, then went back in the house, according to a fire marshal’s office news release. (Herald-Mail)

TSA WORKERS SICK?
When the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) started distributing new uniforms to its workers earlier this year, it hoped to bring a more professional appearance to the 43,000-strong workforce. The American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) reports that professionalism, however, was not the only thing that came with the new blue shirts. Severe skin rashes, lightheadedness, swelling and redness in and around the eyes and lips are symptoms described by Transportation Security Officers who have been wearing these new uniforms. DC SCHOOLS TEACHER SHAKEUP

Former Illinois Attorney General Roland Burris said he will come to Washington today and fight to be sworn in as Barack Obama's replacement in the Senate, dismissing the idea that his appointment will cause a showdown with Democratic leaders. (USAToday.com)

NEIGHBORHOOD BALL
President-elect Barack Obama announced today he will host the first ever Neighborhood Inaugural Ball. Tickets to the event will be free, or at a very low cost, and a portion of tickets will be set aside for District of Columbia residents. The ball will be held at the Convention Center, on the evening of the Inauguration, Jan. 20. (Examiner)

PRESIDENT'S PROP MAN
He's been called the "President's Prop Man." Earl C. Hargrove Jr., co-founder of a company that has planned the official events for inaugural celebrations since President Harry S Truman, is counting down the days until Jan. 20, when President-elect Barack Obama will be sworn into office.
