A 21-year-old D.C. woman has been charged in the death of her baby boy.
On Thanksgiving Day last year, residents at an apartment building in the 6400 block of 14th Street NW complained of a water leak from an upstairs apartment. When the water eventually turned red, they contacted D.C. Police.
Sources told News4 a woman inside the apartment was trying to dispose of her baby, who was found inside a bathtub. A medical examiner determined the baby's death to be asphyxia of multifactorial etiology dismemberment.
Lillian Alvarado was arrested Friday and charged with first degree murder and first degree cruelty to children.
