A new lawsuit filed in the case of a former Prince George's County school aide accused of sexually abusing 11 children says that the suspect threatened to kill one victim if she told anyone.
The lawsuit filed Wednesday states Deonte Carraway abused an 11-year-old girl at Sylvania Woods Elementary School behind the stage at the school. Carraway was a school volunteer and choir director.
According to the suit, Carraway forced the girl to engage in a sexual act with another student while he recorded it on his cellphone. The girl said Carraway then threatened to kill her if she told anyone and he abused her "multiple times at private residences."
"When she returned to class, her fifth grade teacher did not ask her where she had been," the lawsuit states.
The suspect would also come up to the girl in the school hallway and tell her about other students he coerced, the lawsuit said.
Carraway held choir practices at the Municipal Center, a government building where the City of Glenardon's mayor, city manager, police and other city departments have offices and where the city council meets. The lawsuit states he would play hide-and-seek with the girl and other children at the Municipal Center to get them alone and abuse them.
The lawsuit was filed agains Carraway, the Prince George's County Board of Education, Sylvania Woods Elementary School Principal Michelle Williams, the City of Glenarden and Mayor Dennis Smith.

A separate lawsuit filed earlier this month said one victim told his teacher about the abuse, but the teacher ignored him and said, "I don't believe you. Go sit down."
Carraway is facing 13 counts of exploiting children.
