A roaring fire at a Logan Circle rowhouse sent plumes of black smoke billowing into the air and forced two people to jump to safety.
Five people were inside the home on the 1200 block of Rhode Island Avenue when the fire started just before 7 a.m. Thursday.
"When I drove by, there were flames coming out. It was scary," said neighbor Norbert Kupinski.
Three of the residents were able to get out safely, but two were forced to jump out of a window. Both were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, but one of them may have suffered a broken leg or ankle from the jump, a fire official at the scene said.
