Thousands of folks flocked to 12th & Penn to celebrate the Japanese culture and quite possibly the tastiest food ever at the 2013 Sakura Matsuri Japanese Street Festival.

The festival had three stages: ANA's Pennsylvania Avenue Stage, McDonald's J-POP stage and the Sakura Stage on 11th Street. More than 200 martial artists demonstrated their skills throughout the day.

The festival's Taste of Japan hosted 25 Japanese and Asian restaurants, two Kirin beer stations and the Hakutsuru Sake Tasting Pavilion.

More than 30 vendors were at the festival featuring doll-making and Bonsai. Demos of the production of spiritual calligraphic talismans, and hand-made jewelry from Olive and Daisy featuring Japanese beads were also on display
