Investigators: No Criminal Misconduct by Montgomery Co. School Board

State corruption investigators in Maryland closed their probe of credit card purchases by the Montgomery County school board.

In a letter released by the school district Tuesday, the Maryland Office of State Prosecutor said expenses made by board members "do not rise to the level of criminal misconduct.”

The News4 I-Team found some board members used their taxpayer-funded cards to buy pricey meals, including lobster and filet mignon, and to stay in hotel rooms in D.C. despite being just minutes from home.

The board recently voted to strip its own members of those cards and place new limits on travel expenses.
